Per State of Michigan requirements, the city has begun working to document and replace all lead water service lines in the community. As a result, you may receive (or have already received) a letter notifying you that your residence has been identified for inspection to help meet this effort. These are brief, visual inspections that should not take more than a few minutes of your time. These allow the city to record the type of water service material present in your home.
Door-to-door inspections will be made intermittently throughout the year. A City of Gibraltar DPW employee will identify themselves to you and conduct the inspections. All identified lead-line connections will be scheduled for future replacement at no cost to you. Your cooperation and understanding in this matter are greatly appreciated.
