Application For Deferment of Summer Taxes

Summer tax bills for real and personal property are mailed out each year by July 1st, and are payable without penalty by August 31st. A 4% penalty is added after this date.
Winter tax bills for real and personal property are mailed out each year by December 1st, and are payable without penalty by February 14th. A 4% penalty is added after this date.
The City only accepts payment for taxes in the form of credit card, cash, check, or money order. Taxes are payable by mail, in person at the Treasurer’s Office during the hours of 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM or can be put in the drop-box located in the island in front of City Hall. Failure to receive your tax bill will not defer payment of the 4% late penalty. Post mark dates are accepted.
BOTH SUMMER AND WINTER REAL PROPERTY TAXES ARE PAYABLE THROUGH FEBRUARY. AS OF MARCH 1st, ALL UNPAID TAXES WILL BE CONSIDERED DELINQUENT AND SENT TO THE WAYNE COUNTY TREASURER, AT WHICH TIME THEY WILL NO LONGER BE PAYABLE THROUGH THE CITY OF GIBRALTAR.
If your mortgage company pays the taxes for you, they will receive a copy of your tax bill. You will not receive a copy of your tax bill if you pay them through an escrow account.
Delinquent water bills or outstanding invoices will be placed on your taxes with the summer billing in addition to a 25% fee.
The City Hall payment drop box is located in front of City Hall to the west of the main doors at 29450 Munro St. Please utilize this drop box for tax & water bill payments. It is checked daily.
A blue United States Postal Service mailbox is located in front of the Gibraltar Community Center at 29340 South Gibraltar Road.
