The Gibraltar Police Department is accepting applications for the position of Full-Time Police Officer. The Gibraltar Police Department is a community oriented department with a mission of providing the residents of Gibraltar with exemplary police services. Officers are expected to be dedicated, committed and maintain a high standard of police professionalism both on and off-duty. Officers are expected to attend and successfully pass Basic Emergency Medical Training once hired. (Paid for by the department)
POSITION SUMMARY/JOB DESCRIPTION:
To perform responsible law enforcement and patrol work; regulate traffic, protect life and property and prevent crime and disorder; to provide assistance at the scene of accidents and other medical emergencies; work on rotating shifts; participate in investigating criminal law violations occurring within the City limits, obtain evidence and compile information regarding these crimes, prepare cases for filing of charges, testify in court, and related activities; carries out duties in conformance with Federal, State, County, and City laws and ordinances.
This position requires substantial contact with the general public, court officials, and other City officials in the performance of police operating activities.
Starting salary $46,833.03
Lateral Pay 1 year of Prior Police Experience $52,158.50
Lateral Pay 2 years of Prior Police Experience $59,154.41

The Gibraltar Police Department is currently looking to fill one full-time police Officer positions. Lateral Pay up to 2 Years with prior Police Experience.
Applicants must have the equivalent of an associate’s degree and have completed training or attending an accredited police academy to become MCOLES certifiable.
