Vacant Treasurer Position – Seeking Applicants

SEEKING APPLICANTS TO FILL OPEN CITY TREASURER POSITION

The City of Gibraltar Council is seeking applicants to fill a vacant City Treasurer position. The City of Gibraltar is an elected position, filled by the popular vote to a two-year term. The appointee to this vacancy will serve until the November 2025 City Election. Following the expiration of the appointment period, as this is an elected office, applicants would be responsible for filing the necessary paperwork to file as a candidate in accordance with Michigan Election Law for the August Primary and November General Elections in 2025, for the opportunity to be elected to a full term of office.

Applicants must be a qualified elector of the City of Gibraltar and a resident of Gibraltar for at least one year (property ownership is not required).

To apply for the vacant City Treasurer position, interested candidates should submit a letter of interest and a City of Gibraltar employment application (available at https://cityofgibraltarmi.gov/forms/ or City Hall) to the attention of the Gibraltar City Clerk at either clerk@cityofgibraltarmi.gov or 29450 Munro St., Gibraltar, MI 48173. In your letter of interest, please include a statement of why you would like to be Gibraltar’s City Treasurer, as well as any other pertinent information.
