Water Main Installation – South Gibraltar Road

Memorandum from City Administrator – PDF available here

To:          Mayor, Council, Businesses and Public
From:     Michael Landis, City Administrator
Subject: Watermain Installation – South Gibraltar Road
Date:      November 29, 2023

ATTENTION:

Construction of our new water redundancy along Middle Gibraltar Road is nearing completion. As a result, the second phase of scheduled watermain work is slated to begin the week of December 5th, 2023. This crucial infrastructure spans South Gibraltar Road between Middle Gibraltar Road and Navarre. This main will be on the west side of the street. For the duration of this project, there will be no parking on the shoulder of South Gibraltar near the Boblo Pavilion as it will be considered a construction zone. The Talbert Center parking lot and entrances should not be affected or impeded due to construction.

We ask business owners for assistance directing patrons to established overflow parking areas if your primary lots are full.

Homeowners, please be aware that there should be no disruption in your water service until the new main is laid and is ready to be connected to your home.  You will be contacted when that time comes or if this changes. There will be work that may disrupt the landscaping surrounding your water shutoff in your front yard. The contractor will be restoring these items.

The city appreciates your cooperation and understanding as we work to improve our underground infrastructure and enhance the town for years to come. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the City of Gibraltar at 734-676-3900.

Respectfully,

Michael R. Landis, M.P.A., City Administrator
