Wayne County is in the process of updating its Hazard Mitigation Plan (HMP) to better understand and reduce risks from natural, technological, and human-caused hazards. The plan helps guide long-term strategies to protect people, property, infrastructure, and the environment, while maintaining eligibility for federal disaster mitigation funding. The plan has been updated over the last few months, and a draft of the 2025 plan is now available for public review and comment.
Visit waynecountyhmp.com to view the 2025 draft plan, learn more about the hazard mitigation planning process, and provide feedback.
Public comments will be accepted through Jan. 16. Public feedback is an important part of the planning process and helps ensure the plan reflects community priorities and local knowledge.
